Nine women have accused Jared Leto, the Academy Award-winning American actor and lead singer of Thirty Seconds To Mars, of sexual misconduct, according to a report by Air Mail. The 53-year-old actor, known for his roles in Fight Club, Requiem For A Dream, Dallas Buyers Club, and Suicide Squad, is alleged to have engaged in inappropriate behavior. One woman referred to his behavior as an “open secret,” claiming that he sent sexual messages to teenage models in the early 2000s.

In the previous month, DJ Allie Teilz brought forth allegations against Leto by sharing a 2012 Facebook post on her Instagram Story.

“Youre [sic] not really in L.A. until Jared Leto tries to force himself on you backstage… In a kilt.. And a snow hat. I was assaulted and traumatized by this creep when I was 17,” she wrote. In separate story, she added: “He knew my age and didn’t care. What he did was predatory, terrifying and unacceptable.” 

In 2006, a woman alleged that Jared Leto approached her outside a Los Angeles café when she was 16 years old. She stated that Leto, who was reportedly sitting with Ashley Olsen (then 19), grabbed her arm.

“I looked down and it was Jared Leto,” she told Air Mail, adding: “We had a quick conversation, and he got my number.” She went on to say that Leto called her home a few days later, recalling: “I don’t know if he was on drugs or what … It was the weirdest, grossest voice … [but] for me, it’s Jared, you know?” 

She went on to say that the conversations became sexually explicit, with him asking questions like, “Have you ever had a boyfriend? Have you ever performed oral sex?”

Laura La Rue, a model, has also alleged experiencing unsettling behavior from Leto, recounting an incident in 2008 when she was 16. She claims Leto watched her “so intensely” at a private residence event in Beverly Hills.

Speaking to Air Mail, La Rue recounted that he inquired about her age, to which she replied that she was 16 and asked his age in return. According to the outlet, Leto, then 36 years old, subsequently asked for her phone number. The exchange reportedly led to an email relationship, culminating in La Rue’s visit to Leto’s residence in April 2009, as alleged by Air Mail.

“I remember him teasing me the whole time I was there,” La Rue said, adding: “He was flirting with me. He’d lean in close, then pull away, like it was a game.”

She recounted an isolated incident that occurred when she was 17 years old, during which she claimed that Leto exited a room while completely nude. She described it as if he had casually strolled out, genitals exposed, as if it were completely normal. She mentioned that she thought this behavior might be typical of adult men.

According to another woman who conversed with the media source, she and Leto started exchanging text messages while she was still under the legal age. She claimed that he used to ask her indecent questions during her visits to his residence, such as “Do the young boys you associate with sexually penetrate you?”

The woman also alleged that Leto exposed himself and started masturbating in front of her when she was 18 years old. She shared with Air Mail that he approached her, placed her hand on his penis, and instructed her to spit on it while leaning in and saying, “I want you to do that.”

Leto’s representative has refuted the accusations detailed in the Air Mail exposé, dismissing them as “demonstrably false.” This is not the first instance of Leto’s conduct coming under scrutiny. In 2005, The New York Post published an article suggesting Leto’s preference for younger women after he was seen with Olsen and Lindsay Lohan, with sources alleging he was aggressively pursuing teenage models.

More recently, in 2018, Dylan Sprouse, publicly questioned Leto’s alleged pursuit of numerous young female models via direct messages on Twitter.
